John Lewis graduated from Queen's College, a Science 
student. He was later enrolled in Pilot School very briefly, but 
later switched to the University of Guyana's Natural Sciences 
Faculty. After three semesters of Biology & Chemistry he 
switched again to the Faculty of Social Sciences. It was after he 
had finished reading for the Degree in Business Management 
that the idea of John Lewis Styles struck him. As evident 
owning a Boutique was never really on his list of things to do .  

He worked in the family business, THE GIFT CENTRE as the 
Marketing Manager for a number of years and always wondered 
what was missing from their product mix. Only two things 
were missing, food and clothing so being smart and 
somewhat lazy, he chose clothing. His then girlfriend now 
his wife, Jerrylee also graduated from Queen's College and 
the University of Guyana. She had a background in Banking 
and Clothing so she too complimented things nicely.  

JOHN LEWIS STYLES was opened on October 10, 2003. 
It's mission statement is to offer quality goods and services 
to its customers and to be simply different in every area of 
fashion, styles and trends. We will show that clothing need 
not be expensive to look good and you can still have a unique 
sense of style every time you dress.

Over the years JOHN LEWIS STYLES has prided itself in being 
Georgetown's Premier Boutique with Brands and Services 
that no other Boutique offers. They are also an Authorised 
Dealer for Levi's, Dockers and Totes among others. 
With a unique blend of product lines expanding everyday, 
their ‘what not to wear' programme for both men and women 
and not forgetting their Customer Loyalty Card, 
JOHN LEWIS STYLES continues to be Simply Different.
